Information We Collect
We collect your account details (such as your email), your app settings, and the content you choose to create in the app. We collect only what is needed to run Journaling Buddy.
Journal Entries and Personal Reflections
Your entries are yours. We use them to provide the app’s features — saving, organizing, search, and any AI insights you request. We do not sell your entries or use them for advertising.
Photos, Scans, Voice, and Imports
When you scan a physical page, record a voice note, or import notes, that content is processed so it can be added to your journal. Voice recordings may be transcribed into text for you.
AI Features
If you use AI insights or Higher Self, relevant entry content is processed to generate reflections and prompts. AI output can be inaccurate and is intended for personal reflection only — it does not replace professional help.
Notifications
With your permission, we send reflective reminders and gentle nudges. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Analytics and Bug Reports
We collect limited, aggregated usage and crash data to understand problems and improve the app. This does not include the content of your journal entries.
Subscriptions and Payments
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by the App Store. We do not receive or store your full payment details.
How We Store and Protect Data
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Where available, App Lock adds an extra layer of protection on your device. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted providers — such as cloud hosting, AI processing, analytics, and App Store billing — who process data on our behalf under their own safeguards.
Your Choices and Data Deletion
You can edit or delete individual entries in the app at any time, and you can request full deletion of your account and journal data. See our Delete Data page for steps.
Children’s Privacy
Journaling Buddy is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will post the new date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app means you accept the changes.
